Couldn't agree more...

why waste 60k on that when you could just buy aftermarket parts for the car, factory pieces are usually done as cheaply as possible anyways to make profits.

buy yourself a 10k sc and spruce it up however you want, that makes way more sense, plus you will have customized it and will feel more proud about it

its like the redesigned 69 camaro's they had for a million dollars a pop... just buy the damn original car and put in a new engine lol

The 430 is still a beautiful car, and I'd get one..... for that special girl in my life. I just find that the car has far too much of a feminine image for me. It'd be like having a Miata, but you know, without the light weight, perfect steering feel and near-god like handling from the factory.
Then again, I have an irrational obsession with the SC3/4xx that isn't based on any real merit the car has. I love it just because.

I got to agree I had a 92 SC400 and now have a SC430 and they are both beautiful cars but they are both feminine cars. You just can't be insecure about your masculinity to drive either car. I've asked a lot of women what car they like the best and the majority say the SC430, even compared to the Mercedes SL500 which I think is a mans car. Oh well its not all bad driving a car that women lust after It is funny that when you own a Corvette everyone thinks you are going through a mid life crisis or you must have a little ****. I guess in the end you have to just drive what you like and be man enough to enjoy it.

You are a man after my own heart...

Like you, I just love the SC400...I have never viewed it as feminine, except the pearl white color with the gold emblem package and the gold BBS 16 inch rims...I could never go for that...

The SC430 is very feminine, IMHO. Except for that Black one with the 20 inch rims, and the LED rear tail upgrade that keeps showing at the Wednesday night meets...

"total dude ride", lol.

I wouldn't call any car that only comes with an automatic a "total dude ride".

I"d say both the SC430 and SC400/300 lean to the female side and I'd agree the SL leans to the male side. All great cars, just depends on how you lean

I've read the SL is characterized as a middle age trophy wife's car as well in other forums

Are you on crack? The SL is one of the most feminine cars out there...right next to the Acura RSX and Scion TC. Yes, I do agree SC430 leans a little more to the female side and SC300/400 is a little bit meaner (winning the male influence) but what does it really matter? doesn't it all depend on the execution of styling of the owner?

In all honesty, the SC300/400 is a good car for what it was worth back in the day when lawyers and doctors were driving it. If we're talking about todays demand for luxury coupes...styling, luxury, comfort, functions, sex appeal...SC430 is pretty much going to win hands down. Then again, I personally think the SC430 is already long past due for a new design...

Please pass the pipe Does it matter, vettes are really alpha male, but has to me a negative little **** leaning. I did not start the male/female crap, I just decided to pimp you SC400 owners (I use to have one) that think your SC400/300 is the bomb to get a life. Cars really aren't male or female. They are tools for fools

I heard that the SC430 exhaust tips fit PERFECT for a 98+ SC. Does anyone know this?

All SC's 92-00 have the same mufflers, so i'd imagine the exhaust tips would fit fine. Its not really an issue of fitiment... if the exhaust of an SC is 2.5"... then most tips would fit it. And id imagine the SC430 tips look pretty damned cool.

All true. The SL500, or 600 is a man car. SC400 is a man car.

The SL320 is a girls car. Also, any 4 banger merc is a girl car as well.

My main concern is filling the rear cut outs on the 97+ exhaust, so trying to find out what fits the best.
