Default You were luckier than me bro.

Mine is still in the body shop a month and a half later. Also $8,000 later. The insurance co. did not want to fix it because they said a 97 SC300 was not worth 9k. Those rat bast&%ds. Firggen Allstate. STAY AWAY FROM ALLSTATE EVERYONE!

Default Kelly Blue Book.

They called and told me the car was not "Fixable". Allstate said the damage was 9k. I looked up the KBB before I bought it. The KBB is at 13k. I told them 9k to repair it is way too much and theat the body shop was ripping them off. They called the body shop and it turns out they were adding 1k for "quarrentine" if you can believe that. As it turns out they do quarentine vehicles but only when it involves human remains on the car, not animal. So they knocked it down to 8k. It just didn't look that bad to me. But what do I know? I told my Agent when we were setting up the policy to add about 9k in additional equipment Which would bring the pay out value of the car to 22k. I have to cover my butt in case the car gets stolen. Allstate still tried to cheese out on the claim. I had to argue my point with them several times they have tentatively agreed over the phone to pay the claim. I guess I'll see when I go to pick up the car. They keep sending letters saying the claim is still under investigation. Whatever that's supposed to mean.

The whole expierience pretty much sucks.

Don't know yet, as I'm trying to pick up a fender before I talk to a body shop. Also, I decided to wait until people are done with their holiday hangovers, so it will be sometime in January. Too bad that I can't drive this car during the holidays, since it's by far the nicer of my two SCs and the one into which the money goes. But I've learned to be patient with cars, so I'll be alright. Thanks for asking.
