![Question](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I know everyone has asked the turbo SC300 question before. But I have a slight variation on the question. I noticed that with all the Supra owners out there who are going to big single turbo setups, it is leaving a lot of stock twin turbos out there for grabs, and a lot of the time they seem to be reasonably priced. My car is a 5-speed, and I have seen members comment that my transmission could be good for up to 400HP. With the stock Supra TT producing 320 reliable HP, that would be plenty for me. So my question to the knowledgeable guys is, might it not be easier/more cost effective to install the stock Turbo parts onto my NA engine, than to actually take the engine/tranny out and buy a new turbo one, or to buy a $5500 kit? Any thoughts on this fellas? Thanks.

supra tt parts wont work on an n/a head...you can either swap in a tt motor...or do a turbo kit...if your looking for a moderate gain i reccommend keeping stock compression and adding a stage 1 toyomoto kit..the lag is almost non existant with stock compression ...and with 7-10psi you can be at 320-400 rwhp ..have a very reliable and fast daily driven car ..

I went to toyomoto's website at www.toyomoto.com and could not find any information on the Stage 1 kit at all. I was wondering if you have any idea on what components it includes. And pricing information. Thanks.

I have been thinking of putting a Swift stage 2 Supercharger on my 99 GS400. Will cost about $6K installed.
Then I think about buying an older SC300 for about $10K and dropping one of those bolt on turbos for about $6K.
Which of those two cars would be faster?
Would the SC300 w/ Toyomoto stage 1 turbo be able to whoop up on a Mustang GT, Z28, etc?

i reccommend a set up like sc300t did...a toyomoto stage 1.5 stock compression, 10psi...lil bigger turbo..bigger fuel pump..2 extra injectors..additional injector controller and he ran a 12.7 on street tires....thats is fast...and he spent $7000 on the kit and loves it..its been about a year that he has had it on the car..i have had mine for 2 yrs now.....my car is super quiet for putting out over 550 motor hp...there is no question that it will kill mustangs and camaros.....heck..i think Sc300t has in his sig that he beat a 600cc bike...now thats nice...Jeff

Ummm. Thats right, Jeff... And 12.7@117 is just the beginning... That was at 10psi on pump gas and pathetic all season dunlops. I just did a $70 VBC upgrade and I'm playing with 12-14psi on a 50/50 of race gas. I talked to Lance today and he's going to finally get that midpipe made... If you're by his shop, keep on him on this for me if you would... I'd appreciate it. The times I got were in far from ideal conditions also, 90 degrees and humid.
I have videos of me wasting a BPU Supra at the track on this day, right after the driver showed me a dyno slip that read 430rwhp. I laugh at any LS1 powered GM -- Camaro SS, WS6 Firebirds--- They are all pretty slow in comparison... Closest race I've had was a Buschur Racing Mitsu Eclipse with upgraded turbo, upgraded everything, but he was on race gas at 23psi, and I still beat him on pump gas.
With slicks and race gas, I'm near 11.70@120 or so--- Enough to mop up any stock Viper.
Details on the car:

Anyone have questions about the upgrades can e-mail me in private:

Oh, and a turbo SC300 is capable of raping a supercharged GS400.
