Hey I am a new registered member of this site, but have been using this site to learn more about Sc400's. I have a 1996 Sc400 and was wondering if anyone had opinions on the best looking body kit for my car. I have been looking for about a month and have seen a few kits to choose from, but I want to make sure the one I pick isnt to tacky and fits well. Since I am young (21) my funds are limited and was hoping some other sc400 enthusiasts could point me in the right direction of finding a body kit priced around 650- 950. So far I have seen ones like the V speed, demon and i beleive hyper? kits. So if anyone has any info as to where I could find a nice body kit that will look good I would love to hear back from ya. Thanx
- The car is going to be painted candy orange and i am going more for the racing look than the cruise look.

The V-speed and demon kits are knockoffs of ther Vertex and Do-Luck kits. Some people haven't had problems with fitment with the knockoffs, but others have. So it's totally up to you.

First off, welcome to CL, Im sure you will find alot of info on here to help blow all of your cash for the next few years. SInce your a fellow Maryland member I will fill you in on some tips. For starters, use the "search" function for the site, you can usually find tons of threads on most of the normal subjects.....kits, wheels, suspension, blah, blah, blah....and you will get your answers alot quicker than waiting for people to post up.
Secondly, DO NOT BUY A KNOCKOFF KIT!!!!! If you have to wait to save up more cash for the real deal, then do yourself a favor an wait. I would say 99% of the time you buy a knock off kit, you will end up paying the same if not more in the long run on labor to make the P.O.S. fit right. Even then, you end up with a costly kit that isnt as strong as the real deal kits.
I personally like the JIC kit, and its not too expensive either. Check l-tunedparts.com to see some pics, prices, and otpions.
Good luck with building the new ride.

Welcome to the club....i personally think you should go with the bomex kit....if i had a second chance that's what i would go with. I think the bomex kit is going for about 800 for the full kit.....i also think someone on CL is selling the whole kit for 700. I like the kit because it's border-line classy and racey....the most important thing though is the FOG lights....being that you have a 96....i think you should grab a bumper and put the 97 foglights in it.... and any kit you find make sure it has the grill on the front bumper.... 97+ i think have them..... right under the lexus symbol....it's the small things that count.... don't rush into it like me.... you'll end up with something your not happy with.....damn...wish i had a second chance....cost me alot already
