My Seat Heater is Crap
I've just spent the past hour searching the forum for info on SC seat heaters, both OEM and after market. Damn, I even got out my SC parts manual and it looks like the heaters are built into the seat and back cushions. So now for my question that I hope someone can help me resolve. What's the best, least expensive, and easiest way to get some heat into my seats without a major wiring/rewiring hassel. Yes, I'd love a plug to plug easy hook-up but I'm pretty sure I won't find one..
I saw our seat vendor had some heater/massagers for about $179 but I really don't need the massager. Someone, please tell me what I need to do to get my A__ warm in my 400.
I'd love brand names if you would share them with me.
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aftermarket heated seat kit
I just picked up this kit for my wife this Christmas.
The company is in Rockville and you can visit them to look at it first.
Looks pretty good and straight forward.
Just need to figure out how to remove the wood trim around my shifter so I can mount the switches there near the ash tray.
I'll let you kow how I make out.
(Probably will do it on Wednesday since it should warm up and I have to take the seats out in the drivewey)

I know when I was ordering new leathers for my Legend, the seat heaters were like 99/each. Either way, you have to remove the leather from the frame, so I do not see any easy way around that. Just an excuse to get new leather for the car, and new bun warmers (massagers do not sound like a bad idea if you ask me)

Thanks,
A local shop that does leather work will install a heater for $85 per seat if it's not a sew in model. I have the stock heaters so a switch install should not be required, just a wire cut which I was hoping to avoid. My shop manuals don't say a damn thing about the seat heaters themselve and I'm presuming they are sewn into the seat cushion assembly since I can't find a part number in my parts book.
I would buy new seat sexcept that my back seats are like new and I can't justify replacing what isn't broke.
Who is it in Rockville that has these heaters and do the make plug compatibles with the stock harness? I'd love to give them a call.
Thanks...

After market seat heater install
Sorry for the delay in responding.
I had time to install a set on the drivers side. Very nice. They heat better than my OEM ones in the Honda. Almost too warm at times, but you just turn them off.
Botom line is they meet the "wife seal of approval", which is what I wanted.
I think you would need to modify the connector to work with your OEM switch, but the company would know better.
BTW the company owner was quite friendly and helpful.
Good luck!
