Default Need some advice......How many miles on yours?

Hey guys, New guy in town and I am getting ready to buy an SC400 or SC300. I would like to know how you guys like your cars and what you like about them. I am leaning toward the SC400 because of the V8 but I know the SC300 has the 2JZ which is the same as the Supra so I imagine the mods are endless on the 300. Any help would be appreciated and would greatly aid my decision!

Welcome to CL

What do I like about mine? Not many people on here have one hehehehe

The first and foremost about these cars that I like is that they're built like tanks. The quality is top notch, there's good space for a coupe, the timeless lines will never fade for me, the dashboard layout is roomy and unobtrusive like many other cars and they lend themselves well to a small lowering and decent wheels. Of course, having a 1JZ fitted also has it's good points

If you have any questions search up, you may find what you've been looking for.

I live in North OKC by Quail Springs Mall.

thank for the input guys......

Keep em coming! I went thru the pics last night and man you guys can hook up the SC!!!!!!!!! I am picking one up this weekend! I just don't know if I want the SC300 or SC400???????

I may get the 400 cuz modz will come slowly since the racing season is starting soon and I have to get my Gixxer ready for the track. But I also like to mod my vehicles and have seen many modded 300's but very few modded 400's.....hhhmmmmmmmmmmm

Test drove an SC400 yesterday and the dealer made the mistake of giving me the keys and he stayed back to deal with a customer. First light I got to and my luck a Porsche 944 turbo pulled up next to me and I nailed it at the green! left him pretty fast then as I let up his turbo spooled up and away he went! then at the next light I got next to him again and he was pissed! He was revving up his Porsche so I said what the heck and we are off again......this time I got off alot faster and left him quick and he never caught me....by the time I let off the gas to make the turn to the dealer he comes screaming by ......heheheheheheh This car was awsome! I didn't buy cuz the car's interior and exterior was not in the best shape I really just wanted to test drive!

Welcome k5!!!!!!!!!

You pretty much summed it up ion your first post. The 400 is not as mod friendly as the 300. Plus, it is much easier and less expensive to get a 2J or 1J into the very high horsepower ranges than it is for the 1UZ. Just not a lot of market support for the 1UZ.

I have a SC400 and I love every moment I'm in that car! You said the mods would be slow coming due to racing and such. The 400 may be the way to go. Very good power for a stock, heavy vehicle. There are some little things here and there you can do that wont break the bank to squeeze a few extra ponies out of it too. Try driving and example of both, get a feel for them, then consider the direction you want to head in.

My choice, SC400, especially if it will be a daily. I'd like to add a 300 to my stable, but as a boulevard monster, not a daily.

192,000 and still running smoooooooth (as I knock on wood ). Owner prior to me did the last timing belt at roughly 120,000. I'll be doing it myself this time come spring.

Default stick or auto

Really depends. I absolutely love these cars. If you are looking for a DD and prefer Auto then you sure should go with the 400.

Stick, then the 300 though you can convert the auto to stick.

Each motor has it's points and they both are rock solid engines.

This 400 will be my DD once I sell the Solara. Then we will look for another 5 speed.

I prefer manual over auto but the wifey can't drive one so guess that means I am getting a 400!

These are the sharpest looking cars ever made, I've had both, I prefer the 300, easier to service, runs almost as good, plenty good enough. I also have a black 430 but the 300 gets as much attention & looks.
