emblems

They're glued on and have little plastic rivets thru the panels. I just used a flat head screwdriver and easily pried down the length of the emblems until they popped off.

The holes are in the body pannel. The # of holes depends on the year of the vehicle. My emblems were both taped on as well as rivited. They were on so good that when someone decided they wanted my emblems more than I did, they still couldnt get them off - they ended up breaking all the emblems and scratching the car severly. So, when removing the emblems, be very careful.

So are ALL the emblems rivited or just some of them? It was my understanding that the Lexus and SCXXX emblems were simply glued on and not rivited. That way, a partial debadge would be as simple as a hair dryer and goo gone. I know somebody on the GS forum did that... maybe he got the holes filled. Does anyone know what the cost to get the holes filled would be? (approx) Thanks.

My SC300 emblem had the rivets. Temporarily I've put really small pieces of electrical tape over them, and then painted that with toyota white touch up paint. You can't see it unless you're standing right over it....I did the same for the holes from the factory spoiler. That's my temporary fix until I can get it painted in the next few weeks....
As for painting....all depends. If you're going to have them filled and painted, you might want to just go ahead and shave any and all parts off that you wish, move emblems, etc, and get the whole car painted. That way you can be sure everything matches!
