Rear seat crash safety in SC better than a sedan?
The other thread about children in the back seat got me thinking about this:
Would the coupe design in general be safer for rear seated children than a sedan? I would think that the rear side/quarter panels on the coupe are stronger than any sedan's rear doors would be in a side impact collision.
I've read that on my 98 540i, steel bars latch across all 4 doors in the event of a side impact . That's great, but on my SC, such bars would not be needed.
Any info is appreciated!

I'm no crash expert so I have no idea. Have you taken your interior rear 1/4 panels off though? There really is nothing between the outer sheetmetal and inner panel but a bunch of hardware like the seat belts and other various computers.
