yeah, check out intellexual.net, and there have been plenty of threads that new members have asked what mods to do first, so try the search feature up top. Most importantly, make sure all maintenance is up to date, mod's won't run on a car that doesn't work.

Yup, I have to agree, get the maintenance done....oil change (to synthetic IMO), air filter, tranny fluid, etc. How many miles on the beast by the way? and you can go by previous service records too if there reliable.
First mods that I did: Tint and coming soon, Wheels and Wood Dash kit and after I get the wheels on, then we will see about possibly lowering it a bit

Welcome to the Club there is a wealth of information here to take advantage of and a lot of good people to ask advice from

Welcome SCV8. As mikeloc said, check out intelexual.net. Also use our search function here at CL as most topic have been discussed many, many times. A quick search will most often return your answer quicker than anyone can respond to a question.

To answer your question, the 92 SC was rated at 250hp from the factory. General consensus is that it was overrated and in actuality made more like 225hp (flywheel HP).

This has been supported by the RWHP figures TurboTeg stated of 175-185rwhp.

You know.. I have switched 3 vehicles over to synthetic and I will be damned if my SC didnt develop an oil leak after I switched over .

184k miles on it at the time... I really shoulda known better

It depends on what kind of mods you want. For example, the looks, the performance or both?

Performance is what i'm after, its a Lexus.. it looks immaculate as it is. Not a big spender either.. the car cost $5000 and i have about $2000 or so to play with. Its going into performance parts though i don't really car about making it look any different.

Welcome. You'll find this forum extremely useful with tips and advices from other experienced users.
The sc300 has performance options: turbo or supercharger. I'm not aware of any commercially available performance options for the sc400 that readily available. Yeah... I know about the supercharger option available in Australia or some other remote part of the world

so as far as the performance SCs go a person should go with the 300 instead of the 400? thats what i'm getting out of all this. there has to be something that can be done that one doesn't have to order stuff from way the **** in aussie land. forgetting the superchargers and turbos which route would any of you suggest? and the intellectual thing is great and all but in the wheel part of the world the biggest i would ever go is 17" and i would prefer 16". ah well i'm sure something will come along to where my 8 isn't going to be outdone by the 6.
