To tint or not to Tint....opinions needed!
Im planning on tinting the SC real soon but i am undecided on tinting the front windshield...on my Mr2 I have a banner strip about 6inches on the windshield, on an old escort I had I did a 12" 5% tint strip...i liked the way they looked on those vehicles but can't decide what to do on the SC
now I have searched on here about tint jobs in general but not too much has been said about the front windshield...what does everyone that gets their windows tinted do with the front?
Pics appreciated

Questions to ask yourself when tinting your front windshield :
1. What are the Tint laws of your state?
2. If there is a law against tints, are you ready for the consequences?
3. Do you really need it? is it hot? do you need privacy?
4. What color is your interior?
5. What % is the tint on the rest of your car?

good call i need to check the laws im pretty sure they only allow a 6 inch strip but thats why I would do the whole windshield in a light tint...i really wanted to see pics of the strips people have put on their sc's to see if it looks good to me...if i get pulled over the best excuse is telling them you bought the car this way and then they give you a 10dollar fix it ticket that can be reversed when its brought to court...im for sure going to need the tint in the summer...it gets hot here and any help to keep the dash in mint condition is fine by me...interior is tan...rest of tint color will be black and will be set to the legal limit here (5% rear, 15 back sides, 25 or 35 front sides can't remember and 6 inches is allowed up on the windshield...

all good points, thank goodness for photophobia runs in the family, very low tolerance for sunlight. all ya need is a note from your optometrist and you should be able to get a light tint on your windshield. just make sure that you have the note with you at all times. as for the other windows...it's all personal preference, i just know that my windows aren't even close to the level i want them to be at.

On my GS, I swear my favorite 2 mods where the exhaust and the tinted windsheild!!! I only got 1 ticket for it and honestly the aesthetic benefit of the vehicle looking "complete" is more than worth it.
On the GS, I had 35% on the front windsheild and all side windows and 20% on the rear windsheild. I dont think I can ever have a tint job done without the entire windshield being done again!
The 7series already has 30% on all windows, including the windshield. I actuallly think the tinted windshield is better for visibility because it cuts down on glare and if you get the same percentage on the windshield as the side windows, you will not be able to tell its there (no lighter windows anywere in sight!)
