Default 1995 sc400 good deal?

I'm looking into getting a 1995 sc400 a dark green/blue color. It has 77k miles on it and i talked the guy into selling it for 8,000. I think it's a pretty good deal. He was the second owner. The car was driven pretty hard tho..because i can tell they've gone over speed bumps really quick and the plastic under the car is hanging. There are some minor oil leaks too. So i'm not sure if i should get this car. Everything else is great with some normal wear and tear on the exterior. I'm worried because...it was driven hard. Should i take it to the mechanic and have it throughly checked out?

PS does anyone know how long it takes to get a loan from the bank? i don't have the cash right now lol

you can get a car loan in minutes.....it shouldn't be a problem because the car is under 100k.....but do you want a car note....and you know the car has problems.....do you plan on doing in mods to the car....if you hang out on this site...you could catch the mod bug...If I were you I would try to get one from the auction....for less... at least if you save on the sale.. it would hurt you if you had to do any major work to the car...power steering pump, alternator work, or any upgrades are pretty expensive.... I would skip that one... if you notice problems..

Be prepared to do 90K mile service which may mean a major service depending on the history of the car. This may run you another $1200-1500 too.

Make sure the car has had all of it's regular maintainance before you buy. I'd much rather buy a that's been well taken care of with a little higher miles than one with low miles which has been abused.

I would say it's an okay deal. However, since it hasn't reached that 90k mile mark yet, you'll have to get that done as bruce_van stated.

I just picked up my Gold/Tan 95 SC-400 over the weekend. It had 101k miles on it and i was able to get it for $7600. The car was a 1 owner and it was in flawless condition. The only thing is that i don't think the timing belt has been changed, however, all the other major services has been done to it. So i'm just debating on whether or not i should go ahead and get it done, or if i have time to wait based on the good history it's been through.?
