how to tell if LOWENHART LD1 are legit?

how can you tell the difference between the rims
im talkin bout the LD1
i know there is a set of fake LD1s
i am goin to get a set
but i dont want to get ripped off

Well first off, go to a place like F1 Motorsports or Sprewell Racing and go look at a REAL Lowenhart LD1...take a look at the fit, the finish, and the overal quality of build...when you see a fake, it'll be obvious...
Here's a few more things...
1) Most fakes are 1-piece, not 3-piece like the real LD1's.
2) Knowing this, look for REAL bolts and nuts holding the center "disc" to the "rims".
3) If you see a wheel w/o the tire, look for a silicon sealed seam that seals the front and rear rim halves.
Also, buying a reputable vendor will assure you get the real thing. There aren't too many incidents, that I know of, where a fake set LD1's were being sold as real LD1's...
