Default Time to paint...

How many of you have painted your sc4's in the past year? Did you go with OEM paint or something different?

Are we talking removing the interior/motor, color change, or just an exterior respray?

I don't think you could find a decent full out repaint for under 4-5k. Less, obviously, for just an exterior respray.

Your question is way too general. You need to be more specific. We don't live in your area, we don't know what the shops around your area charge. We don't know what kind of paint job you want. You'd be 100% better off looking at your yellow pages for local body shops for pricing.

I don't understand why people ask such general questions...How the heck are we able to help you out?

sorry .. I picked up my sc a few months back to work on as a hobby on the side, and I'm still working on all the maintainance items (bushings, springs, brakes, blah, blah) before I start getting to the appearance mods.

Since this thread came up, I thought I would throw out a general side question and get some what of an idea of how much to budget for when I get around to this. But to be more specific, I'm just going to replace the front and rear bumper, as well as side skirts myself. Then just get the outside of the whole car spray painted one color. Not removing the engine, or door jams, etc etc. Not looking for custom paint, graphics or two tone.

thanks

repainted my car twice this year.... terrible thing.... first was a black with metallic flakes and now it's just the regular black onyx due to a mishap (mom reversed into me with the pathfinder). I do sort of miss the flakes though

about 1k for respray of outside. 4-5k if u want the entire car stripped and painted a different color. painting the car with the same shade u might be able just to get away with spraying just the outside.

Another thing you didn't specify was the color. You said an OEM color, but are you looking for the color that came on the car? You can always paint it another OEM color, which is what I'm leaning towards.

Dunno how much it will cost in your area but I wanted to repaint my 92 SC OEM black and just to get the outside repainted same color would cost around 1800. Hope this may help...

Contrary to Xotic's **** post, I think its safe to say a general number is $2k+ for exterior, $4k+ for the whole deal, wherever you're located etc. (More exact numbers depending on all kinds of factors.) But also, as Xotic cited, check your yellow pages.

ok thanks guys. Right now I have a pearl white. When I get around to it, I think I want to go with more of a bright arctic white.
