the driveshaft is a problem when you weld it yourself.

Time for some of these....well, not if you are on the track, but still. DAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN!!!

Neither. Wheel hop is when your tires lose traction under acceleration and you rear wheels "hop" or bounce off the pavement. The thing thats so bad about this is that the wheels start to spin faster as they are bouncing then when tires get driven back the pavement they get increased traction, since the wheels are spinning faster than the cars moving there is alot of stress put on the driveshaft and rear end. Kinda like if you let ur tires spin on ice than hit a dry patch of pavement. unstoppable force meets immovable object.

Yeah me, too.

That's a good shot of the much-discussed, yet rarely-photographed center support bearing in the 2nd pic, along with the rubber doughnut coupling on the left.

I've never seen a driveshaft loop before is the red bar the drive shaft loop? Even if its not , it seems like a great idea.

I have broken 2 drivshafts. The first one, like yours, was an extended supra one. Twisted in the front half, but I didn't have a loop. Second shaft, just like the shop will probably recomend, was a solid one piece.. DR's are NOT your friend, you want some ET streets, or slicks, so you can get a little spin out of the hole but you shouldn't have to worry about wheel hop.. Get a strong, solid one piece. And make sure you tell the shop you are running lots of power, and torque..
