Bad news about my car.

Bad news about my car.
Unfortunately on Thursday afternoon my car had an engine fire that did some extensive damage.
Apparently the car burst an oil line or something of that nature as it dumped the oil on the manifold it caught fire. I pulled over with white smoke coming out that turned to black in seconds. Opened up the bonnet and the whole of the hot side of the engine was aflame. I immediately closed the bonnet and called fire services.
It is a write off, the engine is beyond help, most of the front nose and everything within it has melted away, there is damage to the bonnet where the fire crew had to pry it open, fire damage to both wings. Anything aluminium within the engine compartment dis-integrated.
There is some things for me to be thankful for though. There is still plenty left on the car that is completely fine. The interior is untouched, wheels and such are fine, no water damage inside or anything. Still quite a few performance related engine bits that are fine (manifold, cams, possibly turbo ect.) All my audio equip/electronics still fine...
I have taken the decision to not get another Soarer as the amount of cash and time and effort to get it to the state that I had is just too much for me to want to do again. It would be different if the parts and knowledge were more readily available for the Soarer but that is not the case and I am tired of being the one to pay over the odds for parts/ect because there is nothing else available or no other competition between retailers.
It is not all bad news though, I have looked on the bright side and taken steps to secure myself another very nice car.
I have decided that I will stay with Toyota though so it is not a complete loss..
This is the car that I will be purchasing shortly

* I have since found out that the cause of my engine problem was It was not an oil line as I had just guessed it was that, all I knew is it was an oil related fire. Apparently at least one piston failed which provided sufficient crankcase pressure to overcome the breather system, which in turn sprayed oil over a glowing hot turbo and manifold with catastrophic consequences.

I thought about the 6 speed but this one has the BL built auto box in it so should be fine for what I want to do...
It was either this or a 96 Vvti 6 speed also with a BL turbo kit and a really nice car but the interior was not as done up.....

As an RX-7 owner a fire extinsher becomes your best freind because of the high temps the car operates at. I have seen countless 7's save with just a fire extinsher and lots of lots of money gone bye bye because someone didn't have one and burn burn burn. The only vehicle I have that doesn't have a fire ext. is my 4cyl toyota truck....I kinda want it to catch on fire lol. Can't think of the name right now, but theres a company out there that makes a fire ext. that doesn't leave a powered residue everywere and specicaly made for cars.

Thanks guys....
She could be rebuilt but I do not want to undertake that task and the prospect of sourcing all the parts ect. just does not appeal to me. It took me over 3 years to get that car in the shape it was in and it was really just about to reach it's peak. Apparently the motor did not agree
I did manage to get a magazine feature done before this happened and that should be out in the next few months. I will scan the pages in once I get them...
