Yeah, me too!

I think I'm gonna buy 20 powerball tickets.... three hundred something million sure would be nice.....

LOL

It is a comfortable feeling when your debt is minimal and you have a cushion in addition to your retirement fund. Not good to dip into those during emergency times... it is very expensive.

Plus then it is easier to go ahead and dump budgeted cash into the car from your car account when needed.

I say if you have thought about it, and can/want to blow every dime of it on mods, then do it.

Live for today but plan for tomorrow and remember yesterday.....
That's been my motto for over... 17 years, about half my life... and that is about how long i used to be broke so its worked for me..

ha ha ha, me too Jon...but I'm sure you know it ain't that easy. I know people who make a ton of cash, I mean serious money...and they're all misers! The guys I know who spend dough like it's going out of style only "look" like they have money, but in reality they don't.

I believe we have to change our mindsets in this country and cease being "consumers"...seems like almost everyday someone I know is buying a new car, some new clothes, or something else they really don't need. 80% of the people in this country live paycheck to paycheck. That's not a good thing.

As a serious car nut, Id only spent anywhere from 25-40 percent on all extra money encountered and save the rest.

I would attempt to see if a manual Sc400 could be had or if it is possible at all. Though i wouldnt expect it to be done with that percenteage of 5,000 dollars.

550whp is DEFINATELY possible with $5000 on an SC4 if you spend wisely and do the work yourself, or have friends that can. I'm not sure how strong the v8 is compared to the 2JZ, but worst case, do a 1JZ swap, build the engine a bit, and buy a big single turbo setup. (1JZ swaps can now be found in the $1000 range, I've seen full single turbo setups used on supraforums.com for 1500 capable of 550+ whp, and the rest is used on building the engine) I'm not sure the $ amount on making a 1JZ fit in an SC4 compared to how easy it is on the SC300, but it shouldnt be THAT much.

If you're going to a shop to have the work done, and buying all brand new parts, getting them shipped that day to a shop (as compared to waiting around for deals), and paying for labor... forget about it.

This sounds like the way to go if you really want to invest.
