how do i remove the black plastic cover around shift lever?
I've done a search and there don't seem to be any results.
I'm wonder how i remove the black plastic cover around the auto transmission shift stick.
Specifically what i'm trying to do is to get at the ECT button and see if its hooked up below the button... cause my button just rocks around loosely.
thanks

Awesome response, Soarer! Thanks for the picture guides!!!
Anyone know where you can find reproductions of interior components? My console is pretty old, and looking really rough- I'd like to make it new looking again, if it's possible. Hell, even a nice looking, non-original replacement would look good...

You're welcome... and welcome to CL
You should be able to buy the parts new from Lexus over in the US (much easier to source than the Japanese counterpart here in Australia) or you could refinish your original. Do a search and you'll find what you want, there's PLENTY of info

Thanks, Jose!
With this guide, I should be able to use something like Mother's Plastic Polish to do the job.. Of course I will need to use the guides you provided to disassemble the console first!
Thanks again!

You know all you have to do is slide the shifter off (via 2 screws) and the plastic will pop up off the center console where the PRNDL is, right?
Saves a LOOOOOOOOOOOT of hassle.
