To be honest, I wouldn't part with the car for less the 17K - Crazy to some but not to me. I've replaced just about every ware and tare part on this car with Lexus or better parts and have managed to keep it as factory looking as I could. The body has 78k on it and the engine has 39k on it now. I'm running between 15 - 17psi and am happy with it for now. It's set up for a single right now with the larger injectors, but does very well on the factory twins. I'll be going to larger single soon, God willing...

Check the CL for sale forums, I think there is a clean red automatic 1jz SC for sale at about 13K.

Nah, I know you'd get more than that if you put it on ebay. You know what it's worth.

 

I know but I'm in disbeleaf that a god Supra is going from 30-80k and a high and car like the SC is worth 13k or less. That is SAD....

 

No, what's really sad is that the supras are going for that much in the first place...

Yep, the 2JZ GTE is like Gold..... I priced out a low millage 2j with 6 speed Tranny and the dude wanted 10 for it. I managed to talk him down to 7k but still felt it was a bit high for an SC swap - I ended up going with the 1j witch is not bad at all if set up properly.... . I out ran an 06 manual GTO the other day and am very happ with that. I think the GTO runs 13's of the show room floor. Still amazing how many Supras you can find on E-Bay for 50k +. It's just as good an investment as a home right now.

 

The Lexus master tech that I bought the car from got the whole front clip for $2500.00 with dash showing 63,000 KM.... Under 30k miles

 

you ever worry about your tranny breaking?

 

My car was just under 400hp on the Dyno and I have an aggresive clutch, I have yet to feel a fault with my tranny. Then again the Body and Tranny only have 78k on them. I'll roll off the line in 1st - hit it and it will wheel spinn 1st - 3rd gear and hook in 4th. So far so good...

 

 

I see quite a few people talking crap here about the 1j swap, but I can tell you first hand that it's easy and you will get the most bang for the buck with the Soarer 1j. Don't get me wrong I would go 2J if I had the cash....

 

Yea, but i think i'd be plenty happy with around 400hp to the wheels especially if i can do the whole swap for under 5 or 6K... If i were you, I'd keep your car. You'll eventually regret selling it if you do. I've talked to people in their 40's and 50's that really wish they had held on to that old mustang, or whatever they drove back when they were in their 20's.

 

are you using the stock sc3 w58 tranny or a soarer r154??
