Poll on Headlights
You know, Ive seen that its way to common of a problem with the whole headlight leaking business. I noticed also that its not only in the older models too, but some of the newer ones have the same problem.
Please respond to the poll on whether or not your headlights have leaked, and post what year your car is.
I want to address this issue to the Lexus company and make them aware that, even though its a minor problem, its still a problem all the same.
Thank you for your participation.

Then they'll turn around and tell you your car is 15 yrs old, expect problems.

Last model was in 2000, i bet someone from that year had a leak, and if so, its substantial proof that there was a faulty design. Im not arguing just for the sake of it. I dont even really want any repent, i just want them to acknowledge that there were problems with the design, and that if they plan to change the design around with the new headlights to maybe look out for potential problems that might be similar to the ones some of us experienced.

The 2000 models could even have problems by now after 6 years man. It's too late.
6 year old cars are ready for the grave these days. Lexus is the only exception, not a flaw - they are just better

The rubber seal is BEFORE the headlight seal on headlights. The headlight seal is farther back a little. Water should never get there through the hood or body. They can condense from lot's of rain with constant moisture, but if they get wet just washing the car...... it is not the headlights, it's the seal to the body ON the headlights.
Make sure it is making good contact all around and try to use a little silicone under the front of the seal to keep water from trickling down under the seal to the rear of the headlight housing.
See, we gotta fix the problem before we blame other things. The seals job is to keep the water from ever getting to the headlight rear housing.
After you have verified it does not get wet from washing the car and water passing the seal, then try it in the rain.

I drilled mine to vent it and it has been dry ever since (3mos). I ran a bead of silicone across the top for safe measure. It seems to be the drivers side that has the problem more often I believe?
