My SC been very reliable to me, as long as you religiously change the oil and maintain it. (Timing belt, flush radiator, gear oil, new spark plug)
I repaired an RX330 lady owned that have sludge on the engine 40000 mi with last oil change was on 5000mi from dealer. She complained that the engine died easily and she always restart and drove again. lol.

I should of done my homework first before I bought my car. I have a 96 sc400 and there seems to be almost no mods for my damn car. Everything seems to be 95 and earlier, but I still love my car.

You can still do intake, exhaust, and a mild NOS wet shot. You'll be loven your SC. Besides the 400 is a cruiser. Especially having an Auto tranny in bad traffic. Give it a chance. Or you can sell it and get a 300. But you will find that you never stop modding the 300 until you end up thousands $$$ in the hole and have a car that is worth a hell of a lot more to you than to your insurance company.
