Couldn't have said it better myself

I've tried both and the stock incandescent works best for the turn signal.

I'm all for the newest and greatest tech that looks hot but if it's not 100% functional as well, I'm not interested. The LED turns fell into that category so they were rejected.

The only way I'd do it is with a staggered LED pod design that follows the curve the the turn signal area. That's a custom fabricated piece that could be made with enough time and effort.

Meh, not worth it for me. I take turns faster than most people cruise so no one looks at my signals anyway.

I am right there with you... Staggered LED pod for signals would be awesome, did you document your LED project? (picture wise)

From my reveal thread:

Out back is a set of '97+ tails with the amber portions traded out for red to streamline the design. Brake light duties are carried out by LED technology: sixty-four high-flux LEDs reside in the tails while a 48-LED strip replaces the stock high-mount stop light and is located in the moonroof. More details on my LED retros are here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=151168

i'm interested in doing something along the lines of what you guys have done on your own spare time with my extra set of tails..the tails I currently have in the pics posted have to be sent back for upgrades and maintenance. it seems some led's have burnt out or come on/off intermittently. After seeing this thread, I will try something with my spare set.

Sorry To Bring an Old Thread back but how would someone go about clearing the backup lenses from yellow to white. Could I maybe put them into a paint thinner or use a buffer?

UV exposure turns the nice clear reverse lenses into a cloudy white. Not much you can do about it short of getting new lights, a garage, and only driving at night.

Tinting them helps hide the yellow but they will still do it.
