93-94 model?
You're going for an R32 GT-R?? They still cost heaps over here... like AUS$34k for a 1991 model. The R33's look better, but dont go as hard. If you're gonna import one anyway, why not get a V-SPEC ?

Ahh yeah....
Skyline GT-R.
Drivetrain : ATESSA 4WD
Really a RWD car untill it senses traction loss and runs the front wheels. There's a torque split gauge that shows amount of power going to front and rear.
Engine : 2.6L Twin Turbo - Rated at 207kw, but realistically it's near the 250-270kw mark. Minor mods and you get 300kw easy.
I've raced one on the street (only an R33 GT-R) but dammn he nailed me. Runs 13.2 et's stock. minor mods make it a mid to low 12 sec car. The 4WD makes it shoot off the line when traction is important, and when it's going, it switches to RWD for max power output. When it was competing in Australia against the V8's it was banned as it was declared "unfair" as it won every race it competed against.
0-62ft in low 5 sec bracket I think. It literally jumps off the line like a rocket. If you want a comparison to that car in the US, test drive the Subaru WRX and the Skyline GT-R is the "bigger badder brother". It's also a porsche killer.

Slick ride!
I've seen an older Skyline here in Seattle, must've cost a bundle.
I heard from a friend in the industry that the Skyline and the Soarer share the same platform,is this true?

Tell your friend to stop smoking crack
the Supra and the Soarer share the same platform
those are Toyotas
the Skyline is a Nissan... it has its own platform only shared by other Skylines
I like the look of the R34s myself; R32s are nice as well... especially Veilside's 1400hp car
and there is a company, i can't remember the name, thats in CA that converts the skyline to LHD
doesn't matter though; i'd drive it RHD shift pattern is the same

--There's a forum here where lots of knowledgable Skyline people talk; including the owner of Motorex himself... beware; trolls like the Arizona Supra crowd troll there... main reason i bought a SC300 instead of a Supra.. a bad image with those cars imo

the company's name is MOTOREX, they are like the largest importer of skylines, and they are the guys to talk to if u wanna change it from RHD to LHD, pretty sure it cant be done though, b/c the turbos (when sitting in driver seat) are on the left instead of the right and therefore the steering column has to be on the right..... not too sure about that though

Bean: I agree w/you about the Supras.. Besides, the SC is more comfortable, service is outstanding and the SC crowd is friendlier, I think. Here we have this big silver Benz dealership building where all the rich people waste their cash on the 3-pointed star, and they have a "courtesy van". Lexus has loaner cars, so you're not dependent on anyone! imagine that!
Anyway, about the Skyline.. anyone up for a trip to Japan? we could kidnap Yoshikazu Hanawa till he agrees to ship 50000 RHD Skylines to the us

Fast and Furious...
The Yellow Car in the Fast an furious is a Skyline. Not sure if it's the GTS-T or the GT-R though. It's the yellow one thats part of Dom's Team with the round rear lights.
