auto or manual?

i've got a 5-speed in my SC300 and its supposed to handle a decent amount of power...

after I've got my turbo in; if i feel the need; i'll upgrade to a 6-speed... it bolts right on; just need a custom driveshaft and a different ratio rearend

I kinda just wanted to stick with the auto tranny if possible, I may do a 6 speed conversion, but not anytime soon after the turbo.

thanks

The built trans is $2900 and the upgraded converters are $1200 for a nice one. You can't use a TT trans because it is electronically controlled, so you would have to use the TT ECU to ONLY control the trans somehow. We were throwing around the idea of putting a TT bellhousing on my car, and adapting it to the N/A trans so we could use one of the better converters, but Precision is supposedly going to make us a stronger converter now anyways, so not really any need anymore.

How much power are you wanting to make?

I'd just do a 5-speed swap
it would be cheaper and more streetable

that seemed like the best Idea to me, I hope it can handle the power (not that it is overwhelming )

thanks guy

Why would it be more streetable? It definately won't be as fast through the quarter!

I am not saying it wouldn't be, I am just curious what makes a 5 speed "more streetable" than an auto. I have a built auto and it is perfectly streetable, and still shifts as smooth as stock almost. It is 100% comfortable, and the car still has all the luxury it ever did. I am just wondering why someone would say the 5 speed is more streetable, because to me it is more of a preference than an issue as to which one is more comfortable.
