I do, however, have an Apexi S-AFC sitting in my room. After my 3000GT VR4 was totalled, I removed the s-afc from the car. I also have a Greddy Profec B (Elec Boost Controller). I'm not sure whether or not I wana install the fuel controller and/or boost controller right now, but we'll see what happens. With the stock injectors, is there any benefit in having an s-afc installed? It seems as though the stock fuel and timing maps have adapted to the forced induction quite well. If there is a benefit to having a fuel controller, I'll definately think about installing one. Some input on this would be great, thanks guys.

Also, I'd really feel a lot more comfortable if I install a tranny cooler. I wana get rid of the OEM tranny cooling system (thru the radiator). Any suggestions on this? Where are aftermarket tranny coolers usually mounted anyway? Any suggestions would be great, thanks in advance.

OR, would you guys reccomend installing a tranny from an Auto Soarer, and adding an aftermarket tranny cooler to that? Which would be better, the sc300, or soarer tranny?

DaveH Turbo kit ~1900
Boostlogic FMIC ~1200
Oil Lines ~150

Prices aren't exact, just from memory... but they're pretty close.

= a little over 3 grand. There isn't really too much stuff for a turbo kit. All you really need is the manifold, turbo, wg, dump tube, dp, midpipe, oil lines, and an air filter.

It's not even 100% necessary to run an intercooler... but it's definately reccomended. A turbo kit without an intercooler will prob drop the price to about 2 grand. Then, there's an intake pipe and an air filter (both of these are practically free), but some people dont run use those either. You'll save quite a bit of $$ by using a SMIC instead of a FMIC... but I decided to go with a FMIC anyway.

That's pretty much it. I made my own intake pipe (3" polished aluminum pipe.. my friend's dad has a LOT of piping laying around), and I just used a K&N filter I had laying around.

I paid $50 for a "fake" HKS SSQV blow off valve. $50 included, a brand new BOV, aluminum flange, vacuum T, o-ring, and the C-Clip. I swapped this out with a "real" HKS bov from my brother's modded turbo eclipse... IDENTICAL- in EVERY way. BOTH of them hold boost just fine, blow off the same, sound the same, and look identical too. What does this tell you? "Fake" HKS blow off valve = "Real" HKS blow off valve... just without "HKS" being stamped all over it.

lsflame- I'll definately shoot some vids within the next few days or so. I'll post them up asap

skpark70- those aren't magnaflow mufflers. I didn't want a muffler that said "MAGNAFLOW" on it, in enormous writing . I bought a pair of these mufflers from EBAY for $100 shipped. 2.5" inlet, and 4¼" outlet. Fully polished stainless steel, and they'll never rust. Not a bad deal if you ask me. I didn't feel like spending $190 each ($380 for a pair) for Apexi N1 mufflers, so I found some on EBAY. They look good, sound great, and are of pretty good quality. For the value, you cant go wrong. I prefer N1 style mufflers on the SC over the magnaflow 14829 (?) series type muffler, but that's simply a personal opinion.

SVTdubs- Spool isn't bad at all. From a dead stop, I could spool up the turbo by gas/braking. I think the stock stall converter is about 2700rpm, and I'm able to build some boost off the line. It is NOT, by any means, laggy. Boost hits hard, even from a dead stop. I'm able to break the tires loose, and not be able to gain traction all the way to 60mph- and I have 275-35zr18 tires I was actually somewhat impressed as to how the pig gets off the line. I was expecting it to be kinda laggy from a stop, but it actually isn't too bad. I'll take some vids when I get a chance.

Thanks again for all the comments.

What would you guys reccomend for a tranny cooler?

FMIC are usually bigger and are able to sustain more boost. I agree with your decision.

I do recommend that you get a Boost Controller, allow you to change the boost while you are "racing". It will give you an idea of how much 1 or 2psi makes a difference in your car. My brothers old Turbo 95 sc300 the difference from 15 to 18psi was tremendous. Was like it was a completely different beast.

As for the Adding of a fuel controller I also do advise. This will allow you to tune your car better and keep track of how much fuel is going into your engine. If tuned right you can gain more whp. wouldn't be a bad idea. You can search the forums for fuel controllers and learn a lot more. Helps a lot. The more you read the smarter you get.
