Default Lowered SCs, question about oil change

You guys that are lowered, can you still get your car up on ramps without scraping the front bump? I don't have any ramps, but I do need to do an oil change and I don't know if using my jack + jack stands will raise the car properly enough to drain out all of the old oil. I don't want to buy ramps to not be able to get up on them.

Also, I know it's been discussed, but what filters do you guys use? Lexus wants $13 for a stock filter Can I just go to Toyota and ask for a 94+ Supra oil filter (part #)?

just use a low pro jack and some stands.

our shop better be clean... BMW would want it that way... especially after an $8million renovation and 32 lifts.

Thanks all, I will try getting one ramp and turning the wheel fully to the left and driving up on just that one ramp. That should bring the car up enough on the driver side to drain all the oil, otherwise I will use PERRY's method

Wow. Who suggested that?
That may work, but others have warned that opening the door with the car all twisted like that is asking for trouble.

I'm biased, of course, but you'd do well to find some scrap wood "pre-ramps" and raise the front evenly.
Easier to remove the bottom shroud that way, too, if you are so inclined.

I don't remember who, but I read it in a thread after you told me to search

I might just do the pre-ramp thing, that's if I don't get lazy by then and just use the jack/jack stands.

I use the Griot's Garage Oil/liquid extractor. No lift, no ramps... As for the oil filter, you can reach in, grab, twist off, and replace from the top of the car.

I do it all the time that way... I see no problem your chassis is suppose to flex, I’m slammed so every time I go into a shopping center the body flexes 10x more than when I do oil changes... I usually get one wheel off the ground when I have to get into steep shopping centers...

Yeah but when you're pulling into a shopping center your door is still closed.

I also have not had problems opening the door while the car is being lifted from one corner, I'm just echoing what others have posted.

SC300 and MKIV Supra use the same 2jz-ge, and yes, this is diffently one of many interchangeable parts. Personally unless you buy a TRD filter, ($$$), you're better off with a K&N or Mobil One filter at ~$10, both are better than recently revised Toyota filter that was a step down in filter media quality.

Why not just use a normal jack to lift the car, and shove a jack stand for extra support / security?

My car is lowered about 2" up front, and 1.7" in the rear (Supra TT Eibach springs & Supra TT KYB Struts)... I still have no problems jacking it up.

I have a small hydraulic jack (like those ones from pep boys, 2 1/4 ton floor jack) with 2 jack stands, but I don't know if it will lift high enough to do an oil change. With that jack I can only get the tire like 6 inches off the ground, if that.
