Default seat install

Hey guys and gals. Just got these seats and not sure what model year they came out of. The harness is not plug and play but my old seat along with new seats both have 11 wires for the driver side harness. I haven’t got to the passenger side but I know the original harness for my car wont have all the wires for the new seat. Question is, does anyone have a diagram to show which wires to tap in to for the seats to work. 7 out of the 11 have similar color codes, but I don’t want to mess this up as these new seats have side airbags.

They look like older LS400 seats

Those would be comfy if you get them to work

I am sure i will be able to wire them up sooner or later, but if someone could lend a helping hand it would make it easier.

They built seats with side airbags? I thought the door itself had the airbags?

Every good seat install needs bolts.

The rest of the install is quite miniscule in comparison.

I am not sure as of yet if air bags are built into the seats. But it is labeled with "SRS" on the side. I will have to do another search. When I get home from work I will get back at it.. If it's a bit slow today I will take one of the seats out and have one of my co-workes cut the tabs and weld them to suit the bolt hole. Still looking for wiiring diagram.

Yes, Side Airbags are commonly built into the seats on newer cars. Side CURTAIN airbags are the ones that are built into the car above the door. Otherwise if yo usee side airbags, they're usually installed in the seats.

Those seats are guaranteed out of a newer GS 99-? Those yellow harness' ARE FOR THE AIRBAG DO NOT MESS WITH!!.. just a little bit of advise. I wanted to put GS seats as my dad had one, but they dont go foreward for rear passenger entry.. I know those are for the seat airbag because we had an older impala with side airbags that we had to change the intereior out of and the seats were just sitting outside and i wanted to see if I could pop the airbag... It was pretty cool.. and loud.. Just connected the 2 wires to a 12v powersupply from about 25 ft away!

Default thanks

nimit1234; thanks for the tip... I assumed that is what the yellow plug was for. I will be sure to keep it out of the way.

I was busy this eve cutting the rear tabs off the rails and welding them back in the proper position. I must say, it is a nice fit. I am not concerned at the moment with rear passengers so non reclining is ok. I am building a fiberglass enclosure for two 15's, so I wont be able to finish the seat install till the weekend. Here is a pic. of the box in progress. I will set up another thread when I am finished the box.

Thanks for the help so far guys and gals.

does the car have heated seats? if not, the 'new' seats probably do & maybe thats the extra wires.
yes, dont mess w/ the yellow connector, definitely air bag.
