Default Getting Rid of Chrome Lining (Black SC)

Hey guys, I'm thinking about getting rid of my chrome lining to make my car look a little more aggressive, probably going to mask everything off and rattle can it.

I'm wondering if anyone else has done this and if they can post some pics.

Thanks in advance.

I have not tried painting the chrome trim but i don't think masking the car off and spray painting the trim is a good idea. first its hard to mask the car in those really tight spots and second its probably best if you sand, clean, prime, paint, and clear. So the best bet would be to just take the trim out and them doing all of those steps for a lasting finish. Just so you know spray paint messes the hell out of your paint, trust me i know from experience

a few GS owners have done it, it looks good if done right. i've never seen an SC without the chrome trim, there isn't taht much of it but if your car is dark it should look good.

I think it really depends what look you are going for, IMO I think it won't look as classy.
Also depends on what kind of wheels you have, I have chrome wheel, so it compliments my wheels but if you have black wheels, it should look pretty good!
I remember back in the days, they used to have this matte finish tape for covering up the chrome trim, not sure if they still make it though.
Photoshopped vs regular

My SC USED to have no chrome trim, until I peeled it off and it revealed the chrome trim there underneath.

Some say it looks sleeker when there is no chrome trim, especially on black.

Wow, I must say... the PS'd picture as well as the picture with the Subby both look great. Like I said, I'm going for a more aggressive look vs. a classy look. I think tape will work too... I noticed my gf's stock 2003 Accord Coupe has black tape covering the chrome trim, that's kinda where I got my idea.

I'm going to get a JIC magic kit, Silver deep dishes and I'm going to tint my emblems. I think it's gonna look hot.

i think the SC looks better with the chrome trim. In fact, I think most luxury cars look better with it.

There are 3 and 5 series BMW's without the chrome trim and it looks too plain Jane to me.
I always associate this little detail with higher end cars. But if you want a sportier look and less
luxury, I'm sure it would look fine as long as it's done right.

I think it is literally called "Black Out Tape". I found some at Pep Boys about two years ago and blacked out the chrome around the windows on my 3.2TL.

kinda the best of both worlds here. You got the chrome trim for more luxurious style, then you have the all black for more of a race look, it's all a matter of taste and in my opinion, I like both about the same but I would just leave the trim cause I am more into the classy/luxury style but, the SC is deff. the car that can pull off both looks and look DAMN good doing it! all up to you man! looks badass with and without.

I think crome trim is great not even most luxury import or domestics have it stock and most times its a factory option you would pay more for. In my opinion its a must for BLACK cars
