Alright guys, It will work. I have contacted Dellow, here are their parts and prices-

TOYOTA SUPRA FIVE SPEED MANUAL CONVERSION BEHIND TOYOTA V8 LEXUS (IUZ-FE & IUZ-LS)

"As you are aware V8 Lexus Vehicles were only produced as automatics, therefore fitting a manual five speed overdrive requires products manufactured by us. The transmission of choice is the Toyota Supra Five Speed.

The new cast alloy bellhousing is cast with provision for the slave cylinder to be mounted on either the driver or passenger side upon request. This makes our bellhousing ideal for odd installations where items could be in the way on one side only:

Cast alloy Bellhousing and Adjustable pivot ball- $450
Sintered bronze Pilot Brush- $ 20
Steel Clutch fork and Clip- $60
Thrust Race and Carrier- $60
Adjustable Push Rod- (slave to fork)- $20
Slave Cylinder(choose right side or left side)- $45
Flywheel-made in steel- $325
Clutch Plate- $100
Pressure Plate- $100
Speedo Cable to suit your vehicle- $65
Tailshaft Yoke to suit your preffered unit- $100
Fully reconditioned Toyota Supra 5-Speed- $695

NOTE: If you post them your original Lexus Soarer Automatic Flex Plate they will remove the Ring Gear and Fit it onto their new Flywheel for $25."

Alright and remember, split these prices in half because those are Australian dollars. So you will be paying only half the amount showed.

so it would cost you around 600 dollars to get a manual tranny for an sc400? Im guessing that would improve performance, but by how much? How much does a turbo kit cost for an sc300? What about the instalation?------*newbie without a car*

Wow, a manual tranny for less than the price of a torque converter! Anyone have any performance times for these SC400s?

My educated guess is right around a 5.7 0-60 time, based on other similar vehicles of the same weight,V8 engine size.
I always figured that I'd compare the price of a manual swap to that of repairing my automatic if the situation ever presented itself.
Thanks for the good info, btw, how much is shipping?

The SC300 gains about 3/4 to a full second 0-60 going from auto to manual.. I would expect a little less than that for an SC400 as you're nearing traction related problems that diminish returns.

I'd expect somewhere around 6 flat 0-60.

BTW 850rwhp doesn't even require building the 2JZ. You can get to 850 just through heads, cams, turbo, nos.

If you're planning on racing any of the Toyomoto SC300s, you'd better bring at least 450rwhp just to make it interesting. The flat hp curve of these cars make them far quicker than their 400- 500rwhp rating suggests.

For instance, if you look at the dyno graph of Lance's IS300 in Turbo magazine, you can see an extremely flat power band that extends from 4500-7000rpm. That is why Mo's supercharged v-8 vehicles have been unable to match the speed, despite bragging about 600-700rwhp, they only have that peak power in a very narrow band. (Its just the nature of centrifugal S/Cs)

Well its not that simple guys, it's not just 600 dollars, alright first off you need the conversion kit from Dellow which they said all together will be like 600-700 dollars. Dellow says we must find our own 5-speed supra tranny so you must call up the junkyards and find a 93-95 supra tranny. The trannies that I have called around for are usually between 1000-1200. You need the gearbox too. Now Dellow's kit definitely does not include everything, you need many other small accessories like pedals and all that fun stuff. And, unless you are an awesome mechanic, the service charge to do the conversion will be expen$ive. I estimate around 2000 or maybe a little more by the time you are done with it

Oh, I forgot to add the service bill with that price, I really don't know how many hours it would take but just add a bunch of money and that's you're total bill.

Scott....

I got that issue in just the other day....saw Toyomoto written on the front and had to open it and read it right away. Man I'm counting down the hours until I get my turbo kit....I can't wait to put it on! I've already started installing my turbo timer, AVC-r, etc, to be ready....lol

On your AVC-R, any tips you can give me that will help? What settings are you using for the gear based stuff?

And ya...that dyno looked nice.

I really don't want to race anybody myself, just get to work reliably and also enjoy the drive a bit more.
The computer controlled auto leaves alot to be desired considering that everything else is so good about these cars, and I have a feeling that it would be an expensive pain to have rebuilt correctly.
It's also fun to have built a unique car.

Wiz, on the AVC-R...
The diagrams are mirror imaged and upside down. You'll have to just double and triple check the connections. The wire colors listed in the official Lexus Repair Manuals are all off. There are little black pin numbers on the actual connector of the harness. These are totally off, so ignore them.

I had to look at the actual diagram and follow where the ECU leads go on the electrical diagram and not just follow color codes.

On the AVC-R, there is an on-line supplement you download the US addendum and the SC300 is in there. The wires are close, but I remember one of them being wrong. I thought it was throttle position? don't remember for sure.

Tuning is not difficult but would vary with the setup... I've got the duty at 25-30% on my waste gate which has an 8-10lb spring. That corresponds to around 8-10psi. The 30% duty at 5000-6500rpms pushes the boost up to around 12psi. I've got the start duty set to -20% in 1st, +7 in all other gears.

Your wastegate spring will dictate many of the settings.

Ya when installing my S-AFC it was the same...all goofy and stuff. I just traced where the pins are ON the ecu from the picture, and followed back from there. Cool...I just can't wait! I talked to Toyo this morning, and I'm going to get the 91 Supra Turbo fuel pump that Jeff was using. Now he's got the Supra TT one.

Thanks Jeff! That pump is just a drop-in, right? Just connect the wires and go?

Default Tranny ECU

Anybody know if the engine ECU and or Tranny ECU will get all pissed off and start misbehaving if the auto tranny is gone? That's something else to ponder with a auto->5spd conversion.
