Go and hunt down a bellhousing to connect the motor to the trans, and I'll tell you how you could do the rest.

I dont know if you can switch a supra getrag 6 speed in the place of the supra 5 speed but the austrailian company Dellow does make a kit to mount a supra 5 speed to a 1uz-fe.

i actualy got to ride in a sc400 5sp.
it was a prototype, that lexus made. my dealer called me when they got it in.
it had too much power and they went through a set of tires way to fast,LOL. lexus decided it was too much.
it was nice though.

The gearbox alone goes for around $2000,rebuilt,+a core charge.
Alot more when you throw in a custom bellhousing, ltd.slip rear gears, interior changes, hydraulics, driveshaft, possible ecm tweaking(to make up for some of the auto components now missing).

Default 6-Spd should work with Dellows kit

In response to Giro's post, the austrailian company Dellow has a kit to mount a 5-Spd MKIV Supra transmission to a 1uz-fe, then a MKIV 6-Spd should fit as well. Correct me if im wrong but the 5-Spd and 6-Spd both mount up to the same motor, so thats all you need to know. If this is true then I would definetly go with Dellow. Giro can you give us some info on Dellow, maybe a website or phone number. I'd be very interested in doing this. Thanks.

Default Disagree SC300TURBO

I might agree with everything you said up to the "and have alot faster car...Jeff"

For the money, yes you can get a SC300 push more power quicker( I mean timewise, not speed ).

But as far as power potential, turbocharging the higher displacement SC400 V8 can make alot more power easier, than a 3.0 can. Now of course the V8 would have to be built up to hold such power. Im sure its not as strong as the inline6(Supra) is in stock form.

Before you make a choice on turboing a sc300 or sc400 you should evaluate you ultimate goal. If you plan on creating a 800hp+ monster, then you will have to build the motor on the I-6 and the V-8, so the cost difference would be very close. If your ok with 400hp - 600hp then the SC300 would be the best choise.

Just my thoughts...
