Bro, you shouldn't feel guilty about making money. It's all about what people are
willing to pay and want. Capitalism.

There are many crooked ways to make money, and I would hardly consider doing
this crooked.

Have you seen the show "Wrecks to Riches"? The guy buys old muscle cars, tricks
them out and put them up for auction. Same principle. He makes about $20-30K on
the cars I've seen and the people who buy them are as happy as can be.

you can get older sc300s with over 150k on them for around 4-5 grand but anything with around or under 100 k is 7-10 .... i just bought mine for 7,900 ... a red 95 5spd with a fresh paintjob and 18x9/18x10 volk gramlights on it... also had a bomex kit minus the front bumper ( the bomex side and rear Vs are for sale!)

i think i did well... even tho the gramlights need to be refinished

and as far as selling.... and making money... if your car looks good ... someone will buy it

i sold my 92 240sx for 5,000 on ebay last week........ it didnt have an SR and the paint was new but had been scrapped in 2 places and it didnt run right and the front wheel was bent and the speedo didnt work... but hey someone wanted the damn thing... heres the link if anyone was interested in seeing it....

my 240 on ebay.....

So many SCs in the classifieds with 1js. This is the new formula on how to make quick bucks.
like this one? no offense to the owner... just showing an example...

i helped to part out a 97 SC from TX with boost. Thing was rusted like crazy! And I quote from the owner...
" they picked out the most jacked up shell, put in a nice motor, and made lots of money."

Thats actually a nice looking car! I think the reasoning behind the pricing is that you can buy a low mileage stocker for ~$10-12k... so why wouldnt you buy a twin-turbo with less than 50k on the engine for the same price?

...of course you could spend a little more $$ and get the full gte/6sd/lsd swap, but I digress...

i actually think im to the point of not caring anymore. i havent been going to meets or shows lately, and when i do see my fellow SC crew, theres always a new guy thats about 17 who just sold his 240. that being said, if and when i do sell mine, it will be with the stock motor in it now with about 160k on it, and i will probably get what i paid for it, minus the mods.

whats wrong with bbeing 17? It's realyl the mental maturity versus physical maturity anyway. I'll be selling my camry in a few weeks to basically buy a SC 1jz.

The 240 was the new civic, now the SC is the new 240. Everyone is getting one. I still do love the car, but part of the reason I sold mine for 20K was because they were popping up everywhere. Now I have a GS

There aren't many SC's nowsaday, and supprisingly you could still find one for that cheap. I haven't seen an SC on ads for a quite a while in Portland area. There was one time that I missed - a 98 SC300 (1 owner) with 36K miles on sale for 16K.

the only people buying SCs for $2k are morons! im sorry, but you dont buy an SC because its an SC if your only paying $2k. a good condition SC will go for much more. any moron could pick up a pile of **** thats all busted up for $2k, but then they are no better than the 87CRX owners with hubcap spinners. i fear that the new SC owners have lost all sight of what the SC really is. its all turned to "oh, im cooler than **** cause i have a lexus with a JDM tyte motor yo!" i know when i baught my car, i got it because i knew it had a ton of luxury options, comfortable, timeless design, and it will run forever. and there are endless ways to make it my own.

i have nothing against 17year old SC owners... i was only 18 when i got my first one. but when they act like the steriotypical 17 year old wannabe street racer... then i have a problem.

oh well. thats just my opinion.
