Default Sunroof closing stops at halfway?

When I slide my sunroof closed, it stops half way, then I have to release the button and press it again to close it completely..is this normal?

It's a preset. This way if too much air is getting in i.e. you go to the highway yet you still want the sunroof open, you can keep it at halfway. I find it pretty convenient.

It's also stops there for safety reasons.

But what if I want to close the sunroof with my head in it?

Yup! this is the way it was meant to be on the SC. Is the same way on my 99. However on the GS and LX470 it will close all the way with just one touch of the button.

Ive seen that on other cars to and i was told that it is for smoking, it will help vent the smoke out without it being windy in the car, which i notice does work
