as long as it doesn't look cheap, i can dig it, but those gawdy pastic ones you see on civics all the time make me want to wretch.... the lights i was talking about didn't look cleared to me, they looked like stock 97's that had been covered with a transparent silver film. or possibly like OLT mentioned, "shot with silver paint and then clearcoated".

EDIT : I also think you may have taken SC_coupe's words out of context there. He wasn't saying the only way to go on a sc is having cleared tails, he was saying the only way to go for cleared tails was like the one pictured in his comment.

IF I were to spend $1k on clear tail lights (I'd never do that) I'd paint the top transparent candy red.

What if you sort of pearlized them with a thin coat of silver metallic then clear coated them. I did that on one of my other cars and the light shines through very easily.

im really surprised more people haven't followed this guide for clear/red tails. i'd pay someone to do this mod for me, maybe even using the 97 tails or something.

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...ght=taillights

doenst look too hard to do, seems pretty straightforward as far as cutting the plastic diffuser, etc.

get to work modders!

Here's another shoot of those Japan tails...IMO I'd red out the bottom portion.
I'm working on a clear top / red bottom 92 set of tails, I'll keep you guys posted with a DIY. Hopefully it'll look like the second photo (photoshopped)

I was saying that Gamer's Clears were the only way to go if you wanted clear tails, not the only way to go for tails.

I'm not really feeling these, are you sure these are the same ones as on the red phenix target sc?
