so I was doing some cleaning to my car and I figured I'd clean the a/c filter. to my surprise, I open it and NO filter is in there! wow.. so now I'm just wondering if this part is available to buy at my local autozone or something? or do I need to get it straight from toyota? $45/ea seems kinda pricey for a filter!

Yeah when the manufatured the car the didnt actually install the filter in any. You have to get the filter from toyota try irontoad.com.

yea, i noticed that too, i just bought the cabin air filter and opened it up and nothing was there. I thought the previous owners got jacked by the dealership or something. Well, this is good to know.

AC filter? Where is that filter box located? I never noticed that and may want to do the same

I believe its behind the removable panel in the glove box.

Was the black plastic filter holder also missing? Difficult installing the filter without it.

Yes, I have this piece. I unscrewed it, when I removed it is when I looked inside to see no filter.

My mistake. The filter holder is included with your type ACC filter.
