Default new guy, with basic questions

hi everyone, im new and looking into buying an SC300...heres my story

i have a turbo 240, that i drove everyday until i decided to go back to college. my school is in the NC mountains and a turbo 240 wouldnt do well there, so i bought a 98 honda prelude because i thought it would snow alot where i lived in the mountains. i was looking at SC300's before but decided against it because of the RWD thing and the snow. as it turns out, it doesnt snow much where i live, and as of yesterday my prelude looks like this:



so, now im looking for a new car, and the SC300 is a very realistic option.

so what im looking for is any problems that are common to the SC's, what years are better to get and so on and so fourth....basically what i should be looking for in one. i still have my 240sx, and a few of my friends are big into supras/IS300/SC's, so im not a total noob when it comes to toyota\lexus motors or performance cars. so please be straight with me.

any help will be appreciated.

Toyota rubber products suck (thats really my only complaint so to speak of). Valve cover gaskets, oil pan gasket, etc will fail and then leak (along with misc powersteering leaks common on the 400s). Other then that they are pretty good cars.

That's pretty dead-on, Integra.... I have a '95 SC400 with 174k miles and have had only some common problems: power steering pressure hose leak and lower control arm bushings, which I replaced last year with Daizen polyuerethane versions, and headlight condensation (also a known problem...goes back to the rubber issue?)

Overall, the car still halls *****, sounds fantastic and has freezer-like air conditioning. The seats, dash and headliner are still in immaculate shape - a testament to Toyota materials, build quality and the previous owner's pride!

Yea, the interior material and build quality is probably the best out there (atleast out of production cars).
