oh no... HELP!
Here's the story...
I take out the ECU-IGN fuse from behind the left side of the drivers footwell to reset my ECU while I clean my car. I put the keys back in and turn on the CD changer. About an hour into cleaning the car, the stereo nearly quits working, I have to turn the stereo up around 80% to hear a whisper of anything. So I try to turn it to the radio and the radio flashes on and off and the antenna is trying to raise up. Ok, battery must be going. I take my keys out and continue cleaning.
I pop open my hood and check my fuses there. I see a telephone fuse and take that out, maybe if i take out the fuse since I don't have the phone in my car anymore, the car will quit resetting (hehe, im still trying to do research on why it's doing this).
I finish cleaning, put back the ECU-IGN fuse and try to start up the car.... OH NO! it won't start! It's making a mechanical sounding machine gun sound. I don't hear the engine turning, just the machine gun sound. I replace the telephone fuse.... still no go! same sound.
the air conditioning, seats and windows still worked in my car. the stereo wouldn't... there was a severe lack of electrical flow.
I'm wondering if this is my battery. I surely hope not, the battery is only a year old (1000w). Can anyone suggest something or know what the problem is?!? Thanks!

Ok, I jumped my car and it seems to be working fine... for now. I re-started the car and it started again without a jump, but I'm going to have wait and see.
I think I might have depleted a battery reserve or something when I took out the ECU-IGN fuse and ran the stereo.
I hope i don't have to get a new battery, hopefully I can find my receipt because I think it has a warranty.

Have you tried jumpstarting it?
Sounds like a dead battery...that's the starter solenoid trying to latch that's causing the clicking. Just jump it, and hope that there's no permenant damage to the battery...lead/acid batteries can take a few discharges without having problems, as long as you charge it back up soon.
