Moshlub,

I think Edmund only tells you if the car has a final cleared title. It doesn't tell you all the transactions or the history of the car. So if the car had a salvage titlle in Texas, for example, before and later has a clear one in CA, you'll miss it.

Okay ... I did a check on one of my recent cars I just bought. And it turns out, the free Lemon Check on Edmunds, turns out to be nothing more than an advertisement gimmick for CarFax. You don't really get any useful results at all. To get anything useful, you have to place an order on CarFax.

Was it a car accident/collision or is it just engine replacement? It should go to "Car fax" once the insurance company process the claim at completion of the repairs. However, if you pay for it out of your pocket it will never be on Car Fax.... That's why they have a $5K guarantee on their service:
