Well I have no problem in the rain really. I just don't floor it. With a turbocharged it is easy to start spinning. I just drive it safely when it rains, and I am fine. I currently have kumho asx's in the front which have a 420 treawear. In the rear I have Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Zero pressure, it is a great tire but at $250 a tire, I can't afford it. They were on the rims when I bought them. I will be getting some Kumho asx's on the rear soon when they need replacing with some wider 275's. It is a great tire for the price.

How safe is your SC in the rain? Thats a good question. Ive driven through major freeways during the toughes storms. All I can say is that Ive Hydroplaned once, Ive drifted off of a freeway exit unintentionally, Ive whipped the rear a couple times when I down shift. At about 80mph on the freeway my car also tends to kinda slip when making a turn. At the time of all these incidents my tires were at about 50-60% tread. Thats why I hardly ever sped or drove alot during the rainy season. And also I hated it when people stepped in with their wet shoes.

I'm running on Kumho Supra Ecsta 712 tyres on my Soarer (235/40 all round) on 18x8.5" wheels and I've never had a problem with the car in the wet. I can't say anything about the Nitto's (since I've never tried them) but traction control has definitely saved my *** on more than one occasion in the wet.

I agree with Sweetser, I have BFG G-Force T/A KDW's and I love them in both the wet and dry weather, and I have cruised in such heavy rain that I could barely see out my windshield still at about 70MPH and been fine and had full confidence in my tires

Diddo here, Rain is scary in our cars, i learned that the hard way, when my TC was down, bald rear tires, and a small mix of road rage......= all 3 lanes leading to a curb. I have some ZR1's now and i can say that the aquatreads do hold pretty good.

I have those BFG's in 19's on my car I lucked out and got these because the Falkens I had stretched too much. These actually have a decent stretch I might be driving the SC in rain today for the first time in nearly a year

Well, an Sc with the right tires is pretty decent in the rain. When it comes to the SC, it's all about the tires. Usually the problem is under acceleration.

Normally traction control is a pain in the ****, but I know on my IS300 when it rains I do not complain. It's saved my butt a few times. In the dry I tend to turn it off because it is annoying to try and take off only to have trac kick in and stall the car to a crawl in traffic with everyone blazing at you.

I am defintily going to have to agree with everyone. Those tires suck in the rain. I used those on my Rx-7 and they were hell in the rain. On dry they are preety good. But ran = no no.

yep... nitto 555 have poor wet traction, even at 275 wide. stock sc300 5speed on dry roads and i can still spin the wheels. its pretty exciting if you know how to handle it.
