Your tires are the problem.
I had the same experience a few years ago on I-75. I have 240,000 miles on my 94 SC400 without traction control. I several sets of Goodyear Eagles like originally came on the car until my little aerobatic experience. The Eagles always had terible wet traction with any wear on them at all. I replaced them with Firestone Firehawks and loved them. They were quieter and had great dry and wet traction. Now the don't seem to make the Firehawk in the size needed for the SC400, so I swichted to Cooper Zeon 2XS. I am on the second set of these. They are a VR, rather than a ZR like the Firehawk, but they are smooth, quiet, wear reasonably well and have good wet traction.
