how safe is your sc in the rain
last night i was driving on I95 heading home doing like 65 in the rain when all of a sudden i lost it and started spining all over the highway .i drifted all the way to the right shoulder did like 4 360's back to the left shoulder and she suddenly stopped .i put her in parked ,started it up again and chilled for a couple of minuites .all i can say is there was an angel over me lastnight .the car came out without a scratch .im currently using nitto 555 tires and for some reason these tires dont have any traction in the rain or maby something is wrong with my car .can i buy a trac system aand install it in my car .what can i do to stop this issue because my life and car depend's on it

Mine does extremely well with stock 16s and bf goodrich tires. TC might have something to do with it. I haven't lost control yet and i've driven through heavy rain.

I've never lost control of my sc. Its more stable in the rain than my supra. Then again, the supra is equiped with ZR tires and the SC is rolling on some regular tires. The nitto 555 might be the problem.

Your Nitto's are most likely the problem. I definitely haven't heard anything good about them... time for new shoes.
I'm currently rolling on the stock 16's, and I've never had an issue. I bought the car with Hankook tires on it, but I just switched to Yokohamas. I've used them for years and have never once had an issue. I drive about 5 mph, sometimes 10, over the speed limit, slowing down for the gnarly turns, and feel completely confident. Get some good tires and just don't drive like an idiot (not to say that you do).
Then again, I hear that turning off your traction control in the rain and spraying Armor All on the entirety of each tire will yield awesome traction. Jet f0cking black, yo.

well my guess would be that not having TC makes it worse. Also the tires your running suck in the rain. Add the two together and its not a good mix in bad weather.
Get some tires that are better suited for the rain/snow..
I used to run blizzaks in the winter time and had no problems, just take it slow. I don't plan on driving my SC in the winter time anymore.

I have a 5-spd and I have gotten lose on a straight part of I-10 a couple times in the rain just by droping down in third gear and giving it gas to pass people, I think its fun although if I ever did lose I guess it really wouldn't be fun anymore. Not to mention the first week I got it I konw I lost it about 5 times making U-turns in the rain. My SC is my first stick and RWD car, I drove a Subaru all the time before. Also I'm on stock 16's with Kumho Exsta, great in rain when your not being stupid!
