Looking for opinions mostly. When i first bought my SC i loved it. Perfect highway cruiser, looks are great and reliable. Now having driven in it for 7 months i want something sportier. I spend a lot of time in my car and i'm just not happy. If i did sell my SC, i'd be looking to get an e46 3 series coupe or E36 M3 (or roadster/coupe).
I'm really leaning towards a 323 with all M suspension. The handling and feel is most important to me, the lighter the better. Power doesn't matter much. Parts/labor isn't a problem, i have hook ups for parts and all the bmw service manuals to help me out as well as a friend who's a BMW tech.
Should i sell it or just mod the SC? I'm against modding it mostly because it is in such good shape it'd be a shame to mess it up. Its sitting at my aunt's house right now as i don't drive it much anymore. I'm really having a hard time deciding.

yeah im just lookin for opinions really. i know the 323 is slow, but the SC isn't exactly a rocket either. the 0-60 times for both those cars are fairly even. A 325 or 328 isn't too far out of the question either.
I guess i'll go find some more bimmers to drive and think it over a little more. the e36 m3 would be cool to have but damn those boxy looks!
and your welcome on the intake!

I had this exact debate. E36 m3 or sc300. Well being a college student I opted for the reliability factor of the lexus, but I often waiver to BMW's side (still). In the end, I feel the e36 is better for the driving experiance, but the sc can be fun as well. All in all it's this: Reliability=Lexus, Better driving experiance=E36. imho

yeah i agree with that. on the freeway the SC3 is really comfortable and nice. I drove around for a weekend in my friend's m3 and wow. it's a completely different car in every aspect.
reliability is a non issue really, there are lexus' out there with zero issues, there are some with lots. BMW may have a higher share of problems, but i don't really see that as a negative enough to write it off the list.
thanks for the replies, keep em coming if you're had the same dilemma or, owned an e36/e46.
