New member..key not turning in trunk lock
Hey there...new member...owned an SC 400 many years ago...then moved on to bimmers (540/6 speed and e36 M3 which I still have)...just picked up a 93 SC 400 for commuting...Like title says, the key wont even turn in the lock for the trunk...any ideas...tried to spray WD 40 in there but to no avail..thanks

Be sure its not a valet key, and that the lock by the trunk release under the steering wheel is in the unlock position. If your key cannot turn the lock by the trunk release under the steering wheel (or the glove box lock for that matter), then it is for sure a valet key.

I do have the master
Its black, has the remote button, and unlocks the trunk release button inside the car...is there any way the lock could be frozen or rusted from the inside??

You don't know the lock's history. It may not be the original or damaged in collision at one time.
Have a locksmith look at it ... One that understands the lock design.

Hey, I had a similar problem... the key would go in but sometimes wouldn't turn. Sometimes, I'd take it out and put it in 180 and then I'd still have to "jiggle" it a bit to get it to work.
Well, I got tired of this and removed the cover in the trunk to look at it. I found that one of the bolts that hold the lock cylinder in place was very, very loose... to the point that the cylinder was loose. After tightening it up it worked fine.

I figured I'd bump this thread because I have a similar problem. The trunk release does not work and the lock was missing when I bought the car. I only have the master key and it used to work in the trunk and on the passenger door--now it only works in the driver door and ignition. The funny thing is that my brother used to have an SC and his key would work in my trunk. 
Any help on a solution would be appreciated. Thanks.
