Gotta get the oil changed. What brand synthetic is best if I'm trying to reduce emissions smoke. I thought I saw that it takes 5/30 or something. Is this accurate? Any suggestions
I bought the car from a dealer. He said it wouldn't go through emissions, but couldn't give me and specifics. Got the car and the 'Check Engine Light' was on. Duh. So I fixed that, but state law requires the dealer to get it through emissions, so its a little out of my hands.
What tips to you have to lower my emissions readings.
1)Back up to 93 octane.... Good chance someone put cheap gas in.
2)Dry Gas... put some in in case there was some water in there.
3)Fuel Injection Cleaner... Threw this in about 50 miles ago.
4)Octane booster... In case premium fuel wasn't used
going to:
1)Put the 'Guaranteed To Pass' fluid in when its almost empty
2)Put oil treatment in when I change the oil.
3)Gonna change the oil using a synthetic... any brand work best.
4) Should I get the car tuned up?
Thanks

Dont spend to much money trying to pass the first time. If you fail you will probably have 6 months before you have to re-test. You can see why the car failed and target the issue from there.

It is going to do what is going to do, but I think you got most of the initial steps right...air filter and spark plugs, too.
If you do not pass, PM me your readings and we can go over them. My uncle and I have to do this a lot with people down here who don't fork over the mullah (I love that term) as is common down here for emissions when you do not pass.
