Default Bad guages, will a replacement be the quick fix

The tach, speedo and fuel level gauge are not working correctly. They all read way too low. The tach starts to move at about 3500 rmps the speedo starts to move at 40 to 50 mph and the fuel guage registers 1/4 tank on a full tank.
Can I just replace the cluster for a known working unit and solve all these problems in one shot?

No one does that here on the island. Shipping it to the US for repairs would be way too expensive.

Island, where are you?
If its somewhere tropical, you could fly a Lexus gauge expert out to you, and have him fix it on the spot.

I'm sure someone on here wouldn't mind getting flown somewhere tropical???

Wink One potential solution

As long as your needles still light up, it may just be that the mounting screws for the gauges are loose. Look at my thread about this:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=214801

You can usually find a servicable gauge cluster on Ebay and often around $150.00. But, Some are much more than that. If you could get those screws to tighten up properly and then CAREFULLY solder them in place, you could save that money.\

I decided to add the following link to show how to remove the cluster:http://www.luxurymods.com/tutorial7.htm

Be sure to move your steering wheel all the way out and down. This helps in the removal process. Turn off the automatic wheel positioner on the left side of the steering column. Take your time particurlarly when pulling the three plugs out of the back of the cluster. They are hard to reach and hard to remove. Just take your time and be carefull.

I like where Neuro's head is at. If you top out at 150, the SC's streamlined shape should let you skip across the water like a flat rock... you'll be in Venezuela in no time... then it's just a short road trip to TN.

Funny visual on that one...Imagine a SC tearing it up, through the fricking jungle back roads of Honduras...passing banana trucks.

I guess it is like SE Tennessee

Dirt roads, foliage, all sorts of reptiles and bugs that will kill you. Scary-*** natives giving ya dirty looks.

Seriously nasc300, I just saw a gauge unit on ebay for a decent price. Your mileage wont match, but what the hell its not like mileage matters where you live...You need a odometer that measures in feet.

ok i know olld thread and all, but i can't find any thread where it actually says how to take off the gauge cluster. i moved the steering wheel all the way out and down. and i've tried pulling off the bottom piece by the dimmer light switch, but it just feels like i'mma break it!
am i supposed to push up? pull it out? help plz cuz my speedo needle and RPM needle just like died on me all of a sudden. and i remember ppl saying they just took it out and unpluged it and repluged it in and it worked again! if i can't get it off...gonna just have to go to my mechanic i guess...or some kind of audio shop and ask them to change the bulbs in the back in the mean time. ugh. sry getting fustrated. plz help.

Peace out
