Factory Paint???
Alright so i was talking to my body shop guy and he says that some of the old folks that restore older cars like to leave the body a little bit less than perfect to bring back that factory feel. If you look down the side of a old charger or something with a original paint job you notice the waves in the body. Does anybody here feel the same way and not like to have a perfect body?

Most people I know that get a respray done want their cars to be better than stock?
I'm tossing up the idea of getting mine a simple respray when I get some cash (gotta fix the bonnet, front bumper/grille and front bumper support after the accident I was involved in), wet sand the car back and get it sprayed in original 202 (black) to get rid of all the scratches and swirl marks.

Thankfully no that wasn't my car... sounds scary though.
For me I love paintwork that looks like glass and so deep it looks like you can stick your arms in it but that's jmo

For me, I would rather have a nice smooth finish on mine.

The body shop guy is justifying a poor quality job by trying to convince one "it"s meant to be this way".
Granted, in the early days, Chrysler did a poor quality job when painting was done by hand. But not with todays available paints and spray equipment.
Maybe he worked for Earl Schibe with the $29.95 paint job...

I know that my body guy doesn't suck because i had him paint my old charger and it came oult like a mirror and was straigt as an arrow. We discused it in the begining, it would be cheaper to leave it original looking but i wasn't there for cheaper so i had him do the works ($4,547). Just wondering weather anybody feels that original is better?
