Anywhere to get a spare Key besides the dealer
I just bought a 1992 SC400 over the weekend, and it is a great car. However, it seems that everything is dealer oriented.
Where is the best place to get parts, and specifically an extra key.
I have one key with the remote, but that is all. I would like to get a non-remote key as a spare.
All thoughts are appreciated.

I was thinking to get uncut key from eBay..
but I dont know how it works, like you can go any local place to cut the key for you or you need to go to the dealer..

I got the uncut key on ebay it's pretty good. it doesn't have the "L" symbol on it like the one i got from the dealer but it's less than half the price.
I have two uncut keys that i have no use for cause i found my key after i bought it on ebay. It's for sell if you interested or you can just buy it on ebay.

I am surprised to hear you can get the key cut at Sears. It seems like it needs a special machine, but that would be great, as I am only looking for a spare key.

I'm not sure how much it's going to cost but it shouldn't be expensive. the only reason reguler places can't cut lexus keys it's only because the key is designed differently

Some lexus dealers will make you a key (one made mine for $30). Be aware that some locksmiths may be able to make you a key, but they dont always work so try it out right away. One locksmith I went to, for some reason, their machine would not make one of the cuts. The Lexus dealer with a machine didnt have any problems.

Ok I finally got a spare key.
My dealer wanted $68.00 for a plain key (No alarm). I called Sears, and non e of hte stores near me had the machine to cut the key.
I found a locksmith, and it was $20 and it works perfectly. Of course the key does nto have teh gold L, but it is a spare, so who cares.
Thanks for the input.

Taka, I don't quite understand your question. The spare key does not have the L on it, as it is a generic key head which is roughly the same dimensions as the Lexus key head.
