Not trying to hijack your thread but these cars are very crash worthy. Keep wearing those seat belts.

No use fixing the car if it needs to go on a frame machine. It will never be the same

I recently talked with a reputable high-class bod shop and they told me what you're claiming is not true . You can always repair a frame and make it handle just the way it did before a crash with the proper tools, know-how, and money.

I disagree. Link.

A car that has had prior frame damage is weaker and is worth less (not worthless ) than a non-damaged car.

The only way to fix it "right" would be to cut that portion of the trunk & unibody out, and weld in a new one with un ****ed frame rails. Once those frame rails have been bent like that, creased all the way around, they will never be as strong again. Bending them back only weakens them more. This might be fine for some 50 year old guy that just drives the car to look like he's a baller, but doesn't do **** for the car enthusiasts. Frame flex is already bad enough in a car that hasn't had frame damage.

he is right to a certain extent but that is not too much frame damage . i worked at a bodyshop for a year and we had cars with worse frame damage repaired and drove like a brand new car now if you had frame damage up fromt then you would of been in some problems

im with that cars adapt to the environment its in and by who is driving but with that minimal frame damage it wont change the way the car drove before or after the accident

being that it was in the rear i think all is fine... if it were in the front .. drivability might be an issue with alignment and such... you should be fine ... i went to school for body work and IMO id fix it...

Deeeeng I hate inconsiderate drivers. Im glad to see you and your father are doing ok. Your car did pretty well in keeping you guys safe. You should see some of the old threads people post about their accidents in an SC.
