Wondering if any one has attempted to modify the daytime running lights to be on even when the main low beams are on since the DRL's are just the high beams at a lower voltage/wattage.

our cars dont have DRL unless you have a 98+ SC...but i'm sure you could wire it up to run with the low beams, some of our electrical gurus will tell you exactly how that can be done i'm sure.

I made drl's for my 95 sc400
( I ran my own wiring, used piaa superwhites wedge bulbs and tied it into the acc wiring so they come on when I start the car). They stay on all the time and do not affect the high beams. I made a post about the install of this project about a year ago or so. I had a 92 sc400 from california that had stock drl's like the 99 model....I often wondered were this car was manufactured from.

where was this post?
what i was thinking is that since i am installing HID, i will have even less use for my high beams that i already do. so i was going to bridge the relay of the DRL to the low beams and then take out the fuses for the HIGH beams so that the high beam circuitry would not overvoltage the DRLs since they are the same bulbs.
yes, my SC is canadian and DRLs were mandatory in every car from 1991 onward i believe.
