I have both a 94 single pure show 916rwhp at 32psi of boost. I completly rebuilt it with the finest parts well over 100k in it. I made it to nice to drive.

So I bought and fell in love with my 95 sc. But I wanted more power. I am a shop owner and have been a mechanic for over 20 years. Completly experanced with every nut and bolt of a supra, I wanted to do a 2jzgte swap.

Well let me tell you it's a real job. So you get the 2jzgte motor and harness and computer, and you think your done. What about the conversion of the supra wirering harness to the lexus body mudule. That's a job. Then you have to get a new fuel pump, tt automatic rear end, tt brakes, coilovers, innercooler & piping, and the list goes on and on. Then you want more power so now make it a single. More money.

If I was to do this conversion for a customer, there would be like 5,000 in labor alone. I would say buy the tt and save money. But the lexus is comfy and classy, and a super sleeper.

When you blow them away, people are just stunned, and are like what the **** just happende to me!!! It's awesome. When I beat them in the supra, they know it's comming.

Well said Lark, I'll count myself among those who recognize the wisdom in your words.

oh yea, welcome to the CL forums, great to have someone with your 2jz insight and experience who can comment on something other than their favorite color or wheel size...

lark, yeah its like the more questions i ask about this swap, the more the honest and realistic answers i get.......which is what i am looking for.
maybe i should just sit back and save my money a little longer, and just buy the supra. and i totally agree with what you said about the look on someone's face when they get dusted off by a car that they werent anticipating on beating them...
i am from MS, and its total V8 country around here, especially in the local towns surrounding where i live, at the car meets, if there arent 20+ mustangs and 2 imports, its a slow night for the domestics, so basically when my MR2 tore into several of them, they didnt like it. or when my friend came up from a local town with a stroked out integra with a full race kit, basically a 400whp pump/600whp race gas car and spanked on them, it was hilarious!

Yup, cheaper insurance. Can mod the 300s to be quick (in a straight line ) Can carry 4 people comfortably , and you can park it around town unlike the TT Supras. As soon as the car thief’s see TT Supras they will at least try to steal it. I’ve seen tons of theft recovery Supras. If you want a supra buy one. If you want supra speed & reliability with more, comfort and room get an SC. But like several on this forum have said, your going to drop some coin either way. As someone told me once...dropping lots of cash on a nice car is just part of the game. Suck it up.

My insurance is cheap. IMO Thats counting one 95 SC stolen, one 97 SC hit deer, and one 97 NA-T SC total'd.

Parts? You can get ANYTHING you need off this forum pretty cheap. Well except the big stuff like V160. Also just MO
