anybody know what might be wrong with my driver side window? it just recently started today..everytime i roll the window down at least half way it starts sqeaking as if you were scratching a chalk board..man that sound just hurt my ears. is it just probably dirty or something??

i dont really know. my window does that too.. but at least it rolls down.. my passenger one only rolls down like 2 inches ..

damn... join the squeaky window club. I finally just got my car back after 2 months of it getting painted, and now both windows squeak and it didnt do it before. Its driving me freakin nuts!! I guess something needs to be lubed up?

I had this problem before. I got rid of it by cleaning my windows really well and doing this trick I learned some time ago. Take a really thin sock (I used a bicycling sock) and put some baby powder in it. Roll your window down and stick the bit of the sock with the powder in it between the window weatherstripping and rub it back and fourth. This should let the glass slide along the weatherstripping without sticking and making that sound.
If that doesn't work it's probably the window regulator/track that needs greasing or replacing.
