Audio problem...
Hi all,
All of a sudden, the head unit in my car stopped working.
I have the Nakamichi sound system in my 92 SC400.
Here's the problem:
The entire LCD display is lit. That is, anything that can possibly be displayed is!
The radio is not working.
The CD player is not working.
The Cassette player is not working.
None of the functions are working.
I can't even turn the thing on or off. The LCD display stays lit regardless...
I can eject and load the CD cartridge without any problems.
I was thinking about pulling the fuse out for the radio and hoping that it would somehow reset itself, but I have my doubts about that...
Suggestions would be welcome.
I need my music!
Carib.

Cabri,
Just a shot, I had the same problem with my Miata. Pulling the fuse would take care of it. I think the reason was because i play the cdr type of disk. Although i am playing my cdr in my sc's Nakamichi and have not had any problem.

Well, the problem has been temporarily solved.
All I did was remove the fuse for the radio, wait a minute or two, and then replace it.
Not too sure what caused the problem in the first place, but I'm glad it's solved for now.

electronics...
Yeah, the stereo can sometimes 'freeze' and the reset fixes it. The same thing happens with the CD player. There is a small reset button you press when/if it freaks out and stops working.
good luck

Really, please post where it is. My audio shut off when i make a turn or go over a rough bump. May be the "reset" button got sticky.
